Board of Trustees

Elected at-large by their constituents and each serving a staggered three-year term, a five-member Board of Trustees governs the Central Valley Fire District. The fire chief reports to the board, and directs the operations of the District in accordance with the direction prescribed by the Board of Trustees with funding approved in the annual budget.

The Board of Trustees duties are outlined in MCA 7:33 as established by the Montana legislature. Unless otherwise advertised, the monthly board meeting is routinely scheduled for the second Tuesday of the month at 5:30 PM. and is held in the Training Classroom at Station 1, 215 Wings Way, Belgrade. The public is welcome to attend.


Ty Elliot

Chairman Ty Elliot

Originally from Buffalo, Wyoming, Mr. Elliot graduated in 1995 from Carroll College in Helena, Montana with a degree in business with an emphasis in economics and finance. Since 2001, he has owned and managed the State Farm Insurance Agency in Belgrade. Ty and his wife Erica have three daughters. Mr. Elliot has served as a Trustee for the Central Valley Fire District since 2013.

 Mark MacLeod

Secretary / Treasurer Mark MacLeod

Born and raised in Billings, Montana, Mr. MacLeod moved to Bozeman in 1975. In 1985, he used his skills as a professional freelance photographer to create Highlander Photographics. Mark was a red-card wildland firefighter and the bagpiper on the CVFD Honor Guard beginning in 2009. Mr. MacLeod has been serving as a Trustee for the Central Valley Fire District since 2012

Trustee Ron Murray

Mr. Murray was born and raised in Billings, Montana. He moved to the Gallatin Valley in 1991 and served as a volunteer firefighter with Belgrade/Central Valley Fire from 2002 to 2008. He is the owner/operator of Montana Murray Kennels. Ron and his wife, Holly, have three daughters. Mr. Murray has served as a Trustee for the Central Valley Fire District since 2022.

Trustee Rob Holt

Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, Rob and his wife, Maureen moved to the Reese Creek neighborhood from the Pacific Northwest in 2013. Mr. Holt is semi-retired and brings skills and tenacity from his experience in sales, marketing, advertising and real estate. After recently completing his red-card wildland firefighter training to begin volunteering with the District, he altered his plans in order to serve as a trustee. Mr. Holt provides a voice for the rural communities in the area. Rob and Maureen have two sons, a daughter and a daughter-in-law. Two of their children have served in the fire service in Washington State. Mr. Holt began serving as a Trustee for the Central Valley Fire District in May of 2024.
