The Central Valley Fire District adopts and incorporates, by reference, the International Fire Code 2021 Edition (2021 IFC) with the additions and amendments as documented in Board Resolution 222307. The Central Valley Fire District's adoption and enforcement of the 2021 IFC is approved by the Montana State Fire Marshal's office.

Projects submitted prior to April 12, 2023 -> 2012 IFC 

Projects submitted after April 12, 2023 -> 2021 IFC

If there is any conflict between the IFC and the Montana Code Annotated, the provisions of the Montana Code Annotated control. Further, if there is any conflict between the construction standards in the IFC and construction standards set forth in the building code adopted by the State of Montana, the provisions of the Montana adopted building code control.

The International Fire Code (IFC) is owned and copyrighted by the International Code Council (ICC). An online version of the 2021 International Fire Code (IFC) is available to read-only at no cost through codes.iccsafe.org. A hard copy of the adopted code is available for viewing at Central Valley Fire Station 1, during standard business hours.
