The Belgrade Fire Department Relief Association was formed June 3, 1912, to raise funds to support Belgrade firefighters who were injured or experienced a loss fighting a fire. The mission of the association expanded when, upon completion of the new firehouse in 1959, the members of the Department under Chief W. Bowman decided to give a chuck wagon breakfast in appreciation of the people who had worked and contributed toward the construction of the new station. A small charge was made to partially defray the cost of food and supplies. The breakfast was so well received, those attending asked that it be repeated the following year as a fund raising project. The Department honored that request and has continued with the breakfast annually since then.
Today, the Central Valley Volunteer Firefighter Association is a 501-C-3 non-profit organization that continues to raise funds to support the District, volunteers, and the community they serve. Programs include free smoke detector installations, a student scholarship program, acquisition of physical fitness equipment, and public education programs in fire safety.
Tax deductible donations to support Central Valley Fire can be made through the association.
